Eleven dancers from the Midlands Dance Theatre Centre recently returned home after competing in the MOVE! National Dance Competition in Cape Town.
Representing KwaZulu-Natal, the dancers won seven categories, took four second places and four third places in the event. They were also chosen as the overall wildcard winners by the judges.
The dancers – Molly Barnes, Amy Goddard, Hayley Billingham, Charmaine Liao, Amahle Mkhize, Aaron Balfour, Christine Breytenbach, Katie Heenan, Nqobile Mthombeni, Oratile Molefe and Nomthandazo Maphanga – took part in classical ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary and lyrical dance.
Dancers aged three years and older are welcome to attend classes in Pietermaritzburg, Hilton, Howick and Nottingham Road.
