The Midlands Dance Theatre Centre Competition Team all got to go to Cape Town to compete in the nationals of the MOVE! National Dance Competition. The whole MDTC competition team, comprising 27 dancers ranging from 7 to 17 years old, qualified to represent KwaZulu-Natal and compete in the nationals of the MOVE! competition which was held from 30 September to 2 October 2022.
After 2 dance-starved years of Covid-19, the dancers at MDTC were eager to get back on the national stage and make Pietermarizburg proud, as they have in the past. We came away from the competition with the following awards: two 1st places, four 2nd places and seven 3rd places – Congratulations Team MDTC!

Some of the team flew down to CT, and the rest went by coach – it was a wonderful experience!
We were housed in a number of locations in CT, and wonderful bonding time was had, and lots of fun. We were also able to spend a day at the Luitingh Alexander Musical Theatre Academy (LAMTA), which was also a fantastic experience for all our dancers.
